Is this course for you
This course focuses on developing your skills and knowledge needed to work in the business, IT and web development sectors of the IT industry. You will gain experience in the techniques required to investigate organisations business requirements, propose solutions to business problems and build IT solutions that meet the needs of the organisation. This experience will be complimented by skills in specific areas such as website design, computer graphics and computer hardware. The course will provide you with the starting point to develop a career in areas such as IT Technical Support, Software Development, Multimedia Systems or Web Design. Alternatively you could continue on to a Bsc Honours in Computer Studies.

You are assessed on a variety of written and practical tasks for each subject. You will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence for presentation to the tutors at a number of times in the year.

What can you do after course
After successful completion of the course you could progress onto the Dip HE in Computer Science run at the College in association with Anglia Ruskin University or apply for a place at a University of your choice to undertake an HNC/HND or a Degree or begin a career within the computing industry.

The course is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Key Skills/Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level.
