About this course

2 Standard Grades at band 3 to include English. Considertaion will be given to alternative qualifications and experience. Candidates should be well presented and have good communication skills. A placement will be available subject to a skills test and interview.

Introduction to Hairdressing
This is a basic hairdressing course which will give you the required qualifications to progress to the national certificate group award in Hairdressing (SCQF level 5).

Within the course you will cover range of hairdressing subjects including Client Consultation, Skills for Customer Care, Hair, Beauty and Make-up - Personal Appearance, Introduction to Colour, Creative Trends, Shampooing and Conditioning, Setting and Blow Drying, Health and Safety, Reception, Basic Long Hair Techniques, IT, Numeracy and Communication,

The course will be a mixture of theory and practical hands on experience.

Progression
SVQ Level 2 Hairdressing or NCGA Hairdressing (subject to approval). To progress to SVQ Level 2 Hairdressing students will require to have successfully completed all required units plus a practical skills test.
