Cost
There will be approx costs of 200 for uniform, books and kits. Additional courses and trips offered by the College will be payable by each student.
The Programme
The Hairdressing course involves an individual programme of study designed to provide students with training so they may obtain a Level 1 NVQ qualification.
Level 1 is an assisting role and a stepping stone to progression in to the 2nd year.
The Programme Content
You will study a minimum of six units leading to the Level 1 qualification. Additionally you will study basic salon skills during an induction period to ensure this is the industry for you. Key skills will also be studied alongside hairdressing,strengthening your employability. Assessment is by Practical Observations in the commercial salon, Assignments, Written mandatory papers, oral questions and Supplementary evidence,which will make up the requirements for the qualification.
Progression / Careers
Students will have the opportunity to progress to Level 2 in the second year on satisfactory completion of Level 1 showing a positive attitude towards attendance and professionalism.
