Is this course right for me?

Law is a fast-moving and dynamic subject which impacts on all of our lives. You will learn about the powers of the Police to search, arrest and detain people, and how the different Courts (Criminal and Civil) work. The course will also explore the role of Barristers, Solicitors, Magistrates and Judges within the English legal system.

What will I be learning?

Law is a demanding but interesting subject. You will study the operation of the Legal System, including Judicial Precedent, how the Law is made, aspects of EU Law and the various legal personnel within the system. In the second year, A2 covers the study of the Criminal Law including Homicide offences, Theft, Robbery, GBH, ABH and assault.

What else might I want to know?

This subject combines well with English Language, English Literature, Business Studies or Government & Politics.
