BTEC FIRST DIPLOMA BUSINESS

The ideal course if you are interested in a career in business but didn't achieve the 4/5 C grades required for the level 3 courses.

What qualifications do I need to study on the course?
You'll need at least 3 grade Ds at GCSE or equivalent.

What will I study?
You will study the ways in which different businesses work - from accounting procedures to sales and customer service. You'll also complete a 2 week work placement in order to gain greater understanding of business from practical experience. The programme of study is varied - you'll be required to work in teams and give presentations to a group as well as working independently on coursework. We also believe it is important for you to see businesses in action past visits have included Old Trafford and Alton Towers and we'll visit local businesses.

What will I be able to progress to?
A pass is equivalent to 4 grades C at GCSE. If you achieve a Merit or Distinction you can progress to a Level 3 Certificate or AS course. Many of our students continue their business studies with a Level 3 Certificate which is also 100% coursework based.
