About this course

Normally students 16 - 19 years of age will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including Music. Alternatively, applicants will be considered for entry if they have Grade 5 in Theory/Practical Musicianship. Career Prospects and Progression

A Levels provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as degrees or Higher National Diplomas. Music Technology is a huge growth area. There is a shortage of trained studio technical staff and there are opportunities in Broadcasting, Computer Work, Software Development, CD Recording, Music Production, Studio Management and Concert Technical Support.

The course is externally assessed. The percentage of marks awarded for each section is as follows: Studio Music 40?, Principles of Music Technology 20?, Composing and Arrangement of Music 40?.

Entry Requirements
