This course aims to give students the opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills in working with children from 0-16 years in a variety of settings.

The course includes all aspects of childcare; child development, play, needs of children and young people, working with others, communication.

teaching & assessment methods
Teaching and learning methods include portfolio building, work placement and group work.

progression route
Successful students may progress to SVQ Level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development of National Certificate in Childcare and Education.

career opportunities
Successful completion of this course allows registration with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Support Worker. This may help you to gain employment in that role within a Childcare or playwork setting
