Performing Arts (Acting) Foundation Degree

Introduction:
This exciting and dynamic programme, offered in partnership with the University of Greenwich, replaces the BTEC HND in Theatre. The aim of the course is to provide excellent subject-specific practical training and a thorough academic knowledge to enter the industry. The qualification carries 240 credit points, meaning that some HE institutions will accept successful students directly on to the third year of a full BA (Hons) degree in a relevant area. A core curriculum provides real work experience in a variety of areas within performing arts including regular community based links, business and administrative experience, practical work with professional directors and choreographers and the chance in the second year to form a touring production company. Contextual and business studies form a vital core in which students will research and examine the legal, fiscal, ethical, historical, analytical and professional issues involved and drawn from the performing arts.
