This 8 unit course is designed to offer learners the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of the craft of the music producer and entrepreneur, focusing on different styles of recording and introducing business and marketing skills employed by the modern day musician. Alongside studying within the state of the art Roland Music
Academy, the learners time will be enhanced by a number of visits from leading industry practitioners and session musicians who will deliver talks and master classes on relevant topics.Units studied will include:
Setting up a music business
· Music promotion (internet)
· Digital recording
· Podcast production
· Remixing and production
· Sequencing and production
(focusing on the Sonar software)
· Music event organisation
· Live sound recording

Progression
Level 3 National Diploma in Music, if appropriate grades are achieved.
