This course is run at Kilmarnock and is aimed at school leavers with learning difficulties who may be considering a move towards supported employment. It is designed to develop competence in individual and basic skills which will underpin vocational competence. Incorporated into the course are Communication, Numeracy, IT, Personal Guidance, Citizenship, Retail Activity, Workright and Catering. A one week work placement is negotiated and undertaken with lecturer support.

Progression
Assessment reports from all subject areas will form an integral part of the student's Personal Learning and Support Plan. This will go forward with the student to the
next step which coud be a college course or supported employment.

On student request, referral to Job Centre services and/or supported employment agencies.
