Sport & Leisure - Sport (Performance BTEC First Diploma) Level 2

In the Sports Studies Department students are educated and trained to meet the needs of a modern and expanding industry. People are spending more time and money on recreation and leisure, creating a shortage of qualified personnel within the sport, leisure and fitness industry.

As well as learning about the industry itself you will study health and fitness, take part in sport and if desired, join the College's Football Institute. You will cover both theory and practical application of many subjects and also have the chance to gain additional qualifications.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
4 GCSEs grade D - E or Network Challenge Progression Award. Informal interview.

PROGRESSION
Sport (Performance & Excellence) BTEC National Certificate Level 3 or other higher level courses.

CAREERS IN SPORT & LEISURE
In this sector, careers could include: Coach, Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard, Leisure Centre Manager, Personal Trainer, Professional Footballer, Outdoor Instructor, Sports Teacher and Sports Therapist.
