Course description
This course is for young adults who have profound and multiple learning difficulties and is designed to meet their individual academic, therapeutic, personal and social needs.
The programme is delivered in a â€OELifestyle Learning†environment using a range of approaches including Total Communication, Multi Sensory Exploration and Intensive Interaction. Students also benefits from the high staff/student ratio, as many of the activities require staff to provide one to one support to enable them to follow their Individual Learning Programmes.
The SCORE curriculum offers:
• Communication
• Physiotherapy
• Hydrotherapy
• Dance Movement Therapy
• Cognitive and IT skills
• Sensory cooking
• Creative art
• Self awareness
• Multi Sensory Room
• Aromatherapy
• Independence skills
• Using the local community.
Initial assessments are carried out during the student†s final year at school. A link programme is offered during the summer term prior to leaving school. A place will be offered depending on the outcome of the link programme.
A care plan will be carried out during this time.
