Trinity College London - Certificate in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Course Summary:
Designed to provide opportunities to gain one of only two internationally recognised initial teaching certificates in TESOL.

Course Content:
Participants are provided with a thorough grounding in language awareness and language teaching methodology, including assessed teaching practice

Assessment:
Both coursework and teaching practice undergo continuous assessment, moderated by a representative from Trinity College London at the end of each course, who samples all coursework and interviews all candidates

Duration:
1 year (August - June)

Attendance:
Langside Campus:
Wednesdays, 1.15pm - 4.15pm and 6.00pm - 9.00pm (depending on demand)
The three hours weekly attendance is supplemented by 6-9 hours directed study plus, in Term 2, 10 half-days of teaching practice in College ESOL classes

Possible Progression Routes:
Teaching posts in many counties worldwide; few openings in the UK
Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL (after a minimum of 2 years full-time ESOL teaching)
