Course Content:
With the support and guidance from a team of keen and experienced staff, who have strong links with the motor industry, you will study and work in the surroundings of the College's new purpose-built engineering centre in Tunbridge Wells. You have excellent workshop facilities and industry-standard equipment, enabling you to learn in a realistic workplace environment. The qualification covers the technical requirements for the modern motor industry.

Attendance Requirements:
Full-time. Details regarding expected course timetable and attendance will be given at interview, if available.
Entry Requirements:
- Applicants should have A *-C grade GCSEs in Maths and English, or
- An IMI Level 1 Award
Entry Process:
All applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor, allowing you to find out more and check that the course is the best option for you. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts.
Assessment:
Students are assessed using online multiple-choice testing, IMI practical assessments, and college-devised assessments such as assignments, reports, case studies and tests.
Progression Routes:
Many students progress to an apprenticeship, combining employment with a part-time qualification at the College. Progression onto BTEC National Diploma in Motor Vehicle Repair & Technology/Motorsport is also available.
Career Options:
Successful students may progress to a trainee technician role. With further study and experience, a career as a vehicle technician is possible, with job opportunities existing in garages, car dealerships, local authorities or in self-employment.
