The BTEC National Award/Certificate is a practical based qualification which allows students to study units related to the health and social care profession. The Award is a one year course and the Certificate is a two year course. All students have to achieve approximately one hundred hours of work placement. Students on the Certificate will do an extra 200 hours.

Modules
National Certificate in Care: 7 Core Units and 5 Specialist Units. National Diploma in Care: 10 Core Units and 8 Specialist Units.
Method of Assessment
All units are assessed by assignments and graded an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. The grades awarded will range from PP to DD.
