About this course
This course will enable you to understand the basics of glass fusing and allow you to continue to develop the techniques learned on the day further if you wish to do so. We offer follow on days to help you should you wish to move things further before committing to setting up your own studio.
This course is suitable for all, although we do not take students under 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult.
No experience required but it might be worth suggesting that people suffering with arthritis or other afflictions that might affect feeling and mobility in the hands may find this course a little difficult.
With over 25 years experience in the industry and a wide depth of knowledge, I have been teaching for over 10 years and am happy to share this knowledge with my students. The studio is a friendly place to be and many of my initial students have gone on to develop their own careers,or simply come back regularly to develop their skills and have a nice day away from the pressures of normal life.
I will contact you and we can discuss your requirements in further detail.

Course programme
Course review:
Spend the day having fun learning how to make your own fused glass bowl, platter, window or wall hanging. With no more than 3 to a class we can ensure you will get all the help and attention you need.
The morning will be spent learning how to handle and cut glass safely. How to use the equipment and machinery within the workshop. Demonstrations are given on the different types of materials suitable for fusing including frits, powders, metals, rods and stringers.
The afternoon is then spent using what you have learnt to make a piece of your choice and design under our expert guidance and supervision.
The fusing and slumping in the kiln will take place after the workshop and the results can be collected or posted at Post Office rates.
No previous experience of glass fusing is required and all materials and tools are supplied. We are currently taking enquiries for courses running in 2020.
