We have put together a programme that draws upon the strengths of the teaching staff within our faculty, while also ensuring students touch upon all of the major aspects of games studies current today.
- Sociological issues and representation within games and the games industry
- Narrative and storytelling within games
- Gameplay analysis and Gamification
- Psychological issues with games and technology.
As well as a grounding of current and historical place of computer games in a global context, and a discussion on their future.
The proposed award also has a practical element of production, studio and community management - to make sure that students have employable skills within the games industry on graduation, and an overview of games and their composite parts, and the development process as a whole.
