The gardener is the one who deals with the design, construction, care and maintenance of green areas of different types. Its intervention areas can be public parks, vertical gardens, residential green spaces, gardens of private homes, greenhouses, nurseries, hydroponic crops, etc. Sometimes, he produces and treats ornamental plants and flowers which he places directly or indirectly on the market. The gardener, therefore, takes care of creating and maintaining spaces dedicated to greenery, public or private, generally composed of ornamental plants, plants and architectural elements, such as hedges, flower beds, terraces and irrigation systems. Conceptually, the activity can be carried out both as a hobby and as a full-fledged profession, in a company or on one's own. Sensitivity and love for greenery is certainly the fundamental prerogative of this profession. But a gardener must also show analytical skills, must be predisposed to work outdoors, often exposed to bad weather and climatic conditions. A gardener must also have good interpersonal skills, since his job involves interfacing with customers and understanding their specific needs. Furthermore, he must have excellent botanical knowledge, dexterity and practical sense.
