This Gas Safety training programme comprises core competencies and sector requirements as required by Gas Safe register: Gas safety legislation; Gas emergency actions and procedures; Characteristics of combustion; Ventilation; Installation of pipework and fittings; Test for soundness; Checking and/or setting meter regulators; Identification of unsafe situations; The operation of and positioning of emergency isolation controls and valves; Emergency notices and warning labels; Checking and setting appliance burner pressures and gas rates; The operation and checking of appliance gas safety devices and controls; Flueing standards; Flue testing; Installation of open, balanced and fan assisted flue assemblies; Re-establish existing gas supply and relight appliances; CPA1 - Combustion Performance Analysis.

About this course
Classroom and workshop based training, if appliance training also required it will be an extra 2 hours per appliance CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1 or DAH1.

Course programme
Operatives will achieve Domestic CCN1 Certification through an awarding body by undertaking the competence based assessment certification by CITB. Assessment for appliances can be taken at the same time CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1 or DAH1.
The programme includes practical study and guidance, plus assessment of the operatives practical knowledge and understanding. Study notes will be provided as part of the training.
