The qualification is accessible to everyone who wishes to continue their personal development in literacy and numeracy and has a record of continual self achievement. We are looking for a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard towards self improvement in these areas. (Employers in the construction industry are expressing the need for higher levels of literacy and numeracy skills.)
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
- For those wishing to raise their basic skills level in literacy and numeracy to progress through the brickwork trade related learning route. (Employers express that there is a great need for trade operatives with good levels of numeracy and literacy.)
- For those wishing to embark on a career in construction. (There is a shortage in the industry of approximately 15,000 people a year in the south east.)

HOW WILL I LEARN?
You will learn in a friendly supportive environment to build your confidence and ability in basic number, communication and hand skills.
WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
This course is the start of a continuing programme through brickwork. Starting from this point we will help you develop through brickwork and into junior building management, if you choose to go that far in your learning. (In the long term you may become one of the 370,000 new entrants to the industry who will be needed to replace those that will be retiring or leaving in the next few years.)
