Course programme

Course overview Do you enjoy learning in a variety of ways ? Do you like to work at your own pace and need support to help you achieve your goals? If the answer is yes, then this is the course for you! Our Gateway programme will help you learn the core life skills that you need to develop your personal, social and educational wellbeing. We offer a personalised learning programme built around your own needs and aspirations. It will put you on track to being confident, making your own decisions and living more independently. This course is designed to fit around your pace of learning and can take up to four years. Learners on the Gateway programme are supported at all times throughout the college day by members of the Learning Support team. You will study a range of functional skills in English, maths and ICT. We also help you to develop your personal, social and independence skills through classes in citizenship, independent and healthy living, money skills and cookery. You can choose from a range of vocational subjects such as retail and business studies, environmental awareness, sports and drama, woodwork, catering, art, textiles, horticulture and music. We also work with partnership organisations to offer access to Worcester Snoezelen and the University Gym as part of the wider programme. Entry requirements There are no formal entry requirements other than a willingness to participate in learning activities. Attending college is about developing your independence skills and life skills more, so we will work with you to make sure you are able to develop your confidence as you make this important transition to adulthood.
