Is it for me?
The course is designed for students who wish to take an additional course to a full time subject of for students who wish to extend their experience of an art and design discipline. This will provide an opportunity to develop your skills and will also provide a foundation for progression into higher education or the workplace.

Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
Assessment
You will be assessed throughout the course by means of practical projects and portfolio assessment. Staff will work as a team and provide you with tutorial feedback. The first two projects will be set by your tutor and the third will be in the form of a controlled test. Your coursework carries 30% of your total mark and your controlled test carries 40% of your total mark.

What qualification will I get? You will achieve GCSE AS Level / A Level in Textiles AQA
Can I go onto further study?
If you would like to continue with your studies you can progress to the second year and achieve A2 textiles. If you successfully complete the course you may be able ot progress onto higher education, such as a degree.
