Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by exam and coursework. The coursework represents 30% of the total AS mark.
How will I be taught?
Teaching methods include: Discussion/Group work Lecture/Presentations Practical, Individual work.
What qualification will I get?
You will achieve GCSE AS Level after one year. If you continue onto year 2 you will work towards the GCSE A Level in Sociology - AQA Specification 5191
Can I go onto further study?
If you complete the A Level you can then progress onto further study of Sociology related degrees such as: Sociology, Criminology, Psychology and Social Work.
What are the career opportunities?
There are many career opportunities in Sociology including Social Work, Youth and Community work and Criminal Justice.
