Content of the Course

There will be practical experiments to help learning in each topic. Core GCSE Biology will focus on real-life contexts. It gives grounding in the application of Science for all students, whether they are budding scientists or need an understanding of science in everyday life. The course starts looking at how certain science experiments are carried out and the type of data generated.

By end of year exams.

Teaching Methods

Whole group work. Individual and pair work. There will also be some practical experiments.

What's Next?

Higher study for example, AS sciences, may require taking a GCSE Additional Science course. You may also progress onto the Varndean Access Diploma in Medical Science or the Access Diploma in Health Studies and Social Care.
