Course structure:
This course is designed to introduce students to biological processes, using examples from the human body and everyday life. Practical work is an integral part of the course and full use will be made of the Faculty†s excellent facilities. No dissection is required. The course will provide a stimulating introduction to biology (â€OEthe science of the next century†) and can lead on to higher level work.
Assessment procedure:

Throughout the course the student will be carrying out practical work to supplement the theory and in preparation for the practical assessments. Two practical assessments will be carried out during normal class time November and in February. The highest mark for each strand will be submitted.
There are 4 different skill areas:
Planning experimental procedures
Obtaining evidence
Analysing evidence and drawing conclusions
Evaluating evidence
