Course Content:
Coursework (4 written pieces): Explore, imagine, entertain; Inform, explain, describe; Response to prose; Response to a Shakespeare play. Coursework: three speaking and listening activities. Exam Paper 1: Reading pre-released media texts; Reading an unseen non-fiction text; Writing to argue, persuade, advise. Exam Paper 2: Reading pre-released and unseen poetry; Writing to analyse, review, comment.

You should buy a dictionary and bring it to lessons as well as using it with your homework. You could also buy GCSE English, Students Book by Rachel Redford.

Progression:
Successful students have gone on to study AS English, or GCSEs or ASs in other subjects.
