This course leades to a full Level 2 qualification in English. Many students sit this course as it is a prerequisite for further study or to obtain a job.

The controlled assessment component will cover extended reading, creative writing and spoken language assessments. There is a speaking & listening component where students will undertake several spoken tasks, including a drama oral, individual presentation and group discussions. The exam is two hours long and will be divided into reading and writing sections.
