GCSE Mathematics
Minimum Entry Requirements:
GCSE Mathematics Grade D.
If you achieved a D grade at your last attempt, you may opt for GCSE Mathematics. If you achieve a C grade or better, a number of university courses and careers will become possible for you, but it will require commitment on your part.
What does the course consist of?
You will be following the AQA modular course, which is aimed at post-16 students in its style. For example, one module has an emphasis on money management. Now that some of you have part-time jobs and are having to buy things for yourselves, how you manage money will be more important to you. You will take this module in February. There is a statistics module in November and a terminal module (algebra etc.) in June. Each module consists of two papers, one of which must be done without a calculator. You will also do two pieces of coursework, which will require attendance during study leave.
