Entry Requirements

• Grade D at GCSE Maths or key skills Application of Numeracy Level 2
• The college welcomes applicants over 19 years of age, each application is considered on individual merit and formal qualifications may not be required dependant upon experience

What you will learn
Basic arithmetic: fractions, decimals, ratio, percentages; use of calculator, social arithmetic, time, distance, speed; statistics-collecting, representing and analysing data; basic algebra, equations, graphs; geometry and trigonometry.

How you will be assessed
Modular exams in November, March and June.
Each examination consists of a calculator paper and a non-calculator paper.

What you will need for this course
Worksheets on all topics will be provided. Students will need a calculator - this should have SIN, COS and TAN buttons, and a fraction button is useful (e.g. Casio FX83); geometry equipment.
