Objectives
On successful completion of this course attendees will be able to:
- describe the technologies available to help you achieve your objectives related to IT Resilience, Recovery Time, and Recovery Point Objectives
- list GDPS functions, capabilities, and the limitations of the underlying technology
- discuss the capabilities and prerequisites of the GDPS/PPRC offering
- list the capabilities and prerequisites of the GDPS/PPRC HyperSwap Manager (GDPS/PPRC HM) offering
- describe the capabilities and considerations of implementing GDPS/Metro Global Mirror (GDPS/MGM) and GDPS/Metro z/OS Global Mirror (GDPS/MzGM) for regional disaster recovery protection
- list the various GDPS extensions that are available
- discuss the capabilities and prerequisites of the RCMF/PPRC offering
- list the special considerations that must be given to the use of the MVS System Logger in a GDPS environment
- describe the planning activities pertaining to the implementation of GDPS/PPRC
