The general English course GE15 is a module of 15 hours per week that runs from Monday to Friday in the morning for three hours each day. This leaves you free for the rest of the day to join the Social Activity Program, study in our Self-access facilities or explore Cork and its surroundings. The three-hour daily lesson covers all English language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening. The main focus of the 15-hour general English course is on communication skills in real-life settings. The teacher uses course books, workbooks and supplementary material, including authentic materials, such as newspapers, DVDs, Internet, books and other means, to meet the linguistic needs of all people in the class. You can start the program on any Monday except holidays where the school is closed.

Course programme

During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation.

In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.20 Lessons per week (4 lessons per day).
