Put your training and expertise to use in market research; real estate development; economic forecasting; retail network planning; industrial site selection; conservation; recreation; tourism; transportation; housing; or crime analysis. You may work as a supply chain analyst, GIS application developer, GIS and route planning analyst, business analyst, location research analyst, environmental field technician or urban/city planner. You may also choose to work as a consultant in government, in the private sector or on a freelance basis. You may choose to pursue graduate studies in geography, spatial analysis, business, planning, policy, urban or immigration studies or environmental science and management, or attend teachers’ college or law school. You may also complete certification as a GIS professional (GISP).

About this course
This career-focused program teaches state-of-the-art geographic information systems (GIS), mapping and remote sensing technology to examine real-world issues in retail management, real estate development, social service planning, public health and safety or climate change. Hands-on labs, a 350-hour internship in the public or private sector, research and consulting projects with external clients, fieldwork including local and international field trips and opportunities for international exchange will prepare you to provide innovative solutions in a variety of fields.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including the following program specific requirements.
Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
