Geography A Level Course This course guides you through the AQA A-Level Geography specification. It focuses on issues and impacts, taking a modern approach to geography and allowing you to focus on contemporary issues within geographical study. This A Level Geography home study course covers core topics within geography such as human and physical geography, and it emphasizes topical issues where appropriate, such as human impacts and sustainability. This course has been designed to: build naturally on GCSE knowledge, with minimal repetition of content develop fieldwork skills increase choice of topics, e.g. between fieldwork investigation or issue evaluation papers stimulate the study of geographical issues and impacts develop a specialist interest within geography provide a seamless progression to higher education and employment This course is aimed at those wishing to study geography at university or for entry to related careers.

Syllabus
This course contains four units:
AS Level
Unit 1: GEOG1 Physical and Human Geography
The study of core geographical concepts along with contrasting themes of contemporary or environmental impact, management and sustainability.
Written examination: 2 Hours
Unit 2: GEOG2 Geographical Skills
A geographical skills paper based on the content of Unit 1.
Skills include: investigative, cartographic, graphical, ICT and statistical skills.
Written examination: 1 hour
A2 Level
Unit 3: GEOG3 Contemporary Geographical Issues
An issues-based approach to contemporary geographical themes.
Written examination: 2 hour 30 minutes
Unit 4: either
GEO4A: Geography Fieldwork Investigation
This unit gives candidates the opportunity to extend an area of the subject content into a more detailed fieldwork study.
Candidates analyse and evaluate their fieldwork in response to the questions set. In addition, candidates will be assessed on fieldwork skills.

GEO4B: Geographical Issue Evaluation,
This unit gives candidates the opportunity to use their skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
An advance information booklet is pre-released 2 months prior to the exam to facilitate candidates' research into an area which extends from the specification content.

Exams are taken at an AQA centre and we can provide an extensive list of centres for you.
Study Hours
