What is the course about?
A Level Geography gives you a strong foundation for understanding the two main themes of the subject: human geography and physical geography. The course also includes fieldwork studies.
AS Level - Year 1
The first year of the course is an introduction to physical and human geography and fieldwork skills. Unit 1 provides an introduction to physical geography through the study of rivers, floods and management, and coastal environments. Human geography is introduced through the study of population change and food supply issues. Unit 2 introduces fieldwork skills.
A2 Level
In the second year you will explore contemporary geographical issues and conduct your own fieldwork. Unit 3 covers plate tectonics and associated hazards, weather and climate and associated hazards, and issues relating to development and globalisation. Fieldwork is covered in Unit 4.
