German Law, Law with, LLB

Please note: You will take 120 credits of modules in each year of study. The modules listed on the website for this programme are regularly reviewed to ensure they are up-to-date and informed by the latest research and teaching methods. Unless indicated otherwise, the modules listed for this programme are for students starting in 2020. On rare occasions, we may need to make unexpected changes to compulsory modules; in this event we will contact offer holders as soon as possible to inform or consult them as appropriate.

• Criminal Law
• Public Law
• Law of Contract
• Introduction to German Law and Legal System I
• Introduction to German Law and Legal System II

You will also study a German language module.

You will also study a German language module.

You spend this year living in Germany and studying at either Universität Bayreuth or Freie Universität in Berlin alongside German law students. You are given help to select appropriate subjects and tailor tuition to your specific needs and interests. On successful completion of the year, you will be awarded a graded certificate by the German university.

In your final year back in Birmingham, you will study Equity, Trusts, Wills & Formalities. You will also study a compulsory German language module; and you will study four optional modules (to include one module from the Department of Modern Languages or the German Legal Dissertation).
