German with French

This degree enables you to take a full range of German modules and keep up your French language.
Germany has always been at the heart of the European intellectual tradition and is now the driving force of its economy and the EU. Our modules reflect the range and diversity of Germany’s culture, history and society. Intensive language work from advanced or beginner level opens up the richness of German language and cultural life, enabling you to graduate as a highly qualified linguist with intercultural skills and a deep understanding of key issues and developments in Germany’s past and present.

You can spend your year abroad either in a German-speaking country for the whole year, or you can split your time between a German-speaking country and a French-speaking country.
We hold a residential course in Germany, open to all of our students on their year abroad. In the final year, we offer research-led modules taught by experts in their field and supported by the wealth of material in our Transnational Resources Centre.

You will study a French language module in your first and second years at Warwick, and in your final year you can choose either to continue studying language or take a French culture module if you have reached a satisfactory language standard in your 2nd year.
