This single honours course is based on the same principles as single honours German, but allows you to include a substantial proportion of study in Media Studies. German is the major subject which counts for two thirds of your degree, and Media Studies is the minor subject which counts for the remaining third.

About this course
The course aims to enable understudies to: Be able to read and analyse a moving image text in a structured and informed way
Have access to a technical and critical vocabulary relevant to the discussion of audio visual imagery
Understand the workings of shot structure and scene composition
Be able to analyse short film clips, paying attention to their formal techniques
Be able to assimilate visual information and use that information to construct a written argument
Studying Modern Languages opens the door to a wide variety of careers. Many Bangor Modern Languages graduates have, of course, gone into teaching and translating, but just as many have embarked upon successful careers in the civil service, business and commerce, industry and the media. The skills you learn whilst studying languages – cultural awareness, communication, accuracy, planning and logical analysis – are valued highly by employers from all sectors of the economy.
260 240 points normally including A2 level in German.
