The idea is to find your own visual language and unlock your creativity through drawing, from concept to completion. The course will develop your ideas and creative skills through the medium of fashion drawing. You will study different methods of illustrations and recording work in the context of fashion, and learn conventional and new media techniques.

About this course
You don’t have to be a great artist or a creative genius as this course is designed for someone who is relatively new to fashion drawing as well as those who want to brush up on their techniques. It is important to note these courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

Course programme
How will I learn?
The tutor will give demonstrations and you will work on individual projects. Group discussions and reviews will be integral to the course. PowerPoint presentations and video clips will also be utilised. Handouts will be provided with more information and methods used.
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
Progress will be monitored on a weekly basis and one-to-one discussions between the tutor and yourself. You will build up a portfolio of sample work.

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?
For your first session you should bring a range of HB pencils, a fine liner pen and an A4 Layout pad. Costs will vary according to the medium chosen and the projects you work on. Your tutor will advise through the course.
What other support is available?
Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
