The Goldsmith is a craftsman who deals with the creation and repair of decorative objects made of gold or other precious materials. He can carry out his profession on his own or as an employee of an artisan company. His activities mainly concern: casting and welding of precious metals and metal alloys, repair of goldsmiths or jewelery, metal engraving, drawing of the draft of the object to be made, polishing of products and procurement and maintenance of raw materials. The object produced can be sold directly to the final customer or to goldsmith or jewelery shops. If he carries out his profession in a commercial activity, the goldsmith takes care of the display of jewels and their direct sale and, if he is also the owner, he keeps the accounts by carrying out bureaucratic and fiscal procedures.
