About this course

The objective of this course is to give you the fundamental knowledge of a range of medical conditions which can open the doors to more clients as well as the opportunity to liaise and work alongside health professionals. You would also be completing the course which gives you access to L4 qualifications where you can specialise in a particular condition.

It is intended for L2 and L3 fitness professionals that would like to work with clients that need more support and motivation to improve their health and wellbeing.

You must hold a L2 or L3 Fitness Qualification

The course will give you the following qualification:
L3 Diploma in Exercise Referral

Yes all L2 entry qualifications allow you access onto this course but you are required to complete 2 mandatory units which are studied online.

As long as you completed your PT qualification within the last 3-4 years then you are only required to complete the 5 days with a small amount of pre-course reading and your post course assessments. If you completed your PT qualification a while ago then you may be asked to re-sit the theory papers for the mandatory units to ensure you have up to date knowledge.

No, if you hold a valid L3 PT qualification then the course costs £400.
For L2 instructors, the course costs £640.

Course programme

This qualification aims to equip the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to plan and instruct programmes for exercise referral patients. It comprises of 6 units. It covers L3 A&P, L3 Nutrition to make it the diploma. The exercise referral units include professional practice, medical conditions, planning exercise referral programmes and instructing exercise referral programmes.
