If you are interested in creating a new enterprise, or seeking to grow or turn around a mature business, this course is for you. Drawing on strategy and entrepreneurship the program focuses on understanding markets, opportunities and company performance. You will engage with dynamic businesses and entrepreneurs and gain the know-how to develop a successful business.The program caters to a wide variety of individuals, including entrepreneurs, researchers, creative artists and managers in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.Central to the program is the combining of practice with theory through interactive workshops, group projects, symposia with industry practitioners and individual special projects. You will gain the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to engage with the business world, including leadership, teamwork and presentation skills.As part of this program you will draw from expert researchers involved with our Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Group (IERG ). The IERG is a cross-disciplinary team of researchers that focuses on business innovation and entrepreneurial ventures and people. OUTLINE OF COURSE STRUCTURE
The Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise requires the completion 24 credit points comprising two components:
- 12 credit points in core units of study; and
- 12 credit points in elective units of study.
Core units of study
(i) Foundation unit (completed in first semester of study):
- IBUS5002 Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
(ii) Capstone unit (completed in the final semester of study):
- IBUS6015 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Project
Elective units of study
Completion of two elective options is a requirement of the Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise. Students select their electives from the options listed in the Business School (Postgraduate) handbook, including:
- IBUS6011 New Business Opportunities and Startups
- IBUS6012 Business Innovation and Sustainability
- IBUS6013 Business Restructuring and Renewal
- IBUS6014 Intellectual Property Management
- IBUS6016 Social Entrepreneurship
- IBUS6023 Engaged Entrepreneurship Projects.

Progression rules
The core foundation unit, IBUS5002 Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, should be completed in the first semester of enrolment and the core capstone unit, IBUS6015 Entrepreneurship & Innovation Project, should be completed in the final semester of enrolment.
Elective options are completed in any order depending on prerequisite/corequisite requirements.
