Course programme

The program provides a systematic study of issues in education such as professional practice; learning and motivation; the social context of education; student-teacher interaction; and curriculum and assessment in the Australian context.
It incorporates two full time 5-week blocks of supervised teaching in schools, one in the metropolitan area and one in country South Australia.
Students are also required to undertake studies in curriculum areas related to undergraduate qualifications and teaching specialisations.
Areas of specialisation include: Agricultural Science Accounting Business Studies Economics Biology Chemistry English English as a Second Language (ESL) Geography History Information Technology Mathematics various Modern Languages Music Physics Psychology Quotas are applied in general school teaching curriculum areas.

Graduate Diploma in Education Areas of Specialisation Example Study Plan Core courses All core courses 3 units eachEDUC 6201 Education, Culture & Diversity EDUC 6202 Student Learning & Interaction PlusEDUC 6205 Professional Experience 1EDUC 6206 Professional Experience 2 Curriculum and Methodology Courses * Students undertake a 2 Teaching Areas ie a minimum of four Curriculum and Methodology courses (3 units each) to the total value of 12 units.
Most courses have pre-requisites.
Not all courses will be offered each year.
