The Graduate Diploma of Public Health draws on existing courses offered in the Master of Public Health and Master of Public Health (Advanced) offered by the College of Medicine, Biology and Environment. It is intended primarily as an exit award for students who are unable, for a variety of reasons, to complete a Master degree but have completed 48 units of credit toward their postgraduate program.

The Graduate Diploma of Public Health requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
18 units from completion of courses from the following list:
POPH8101 Biostatistics in Population Health
POPH8103 Introduction to Health Services Research and Policy
POPH8108 Social Determinants of Health
A minimum of 6 units from completion of courses from the following list:
POPH8100 Fundamentals of Epidemiology
POPH8552 Introduction to Clinical Epidemiology
A maximum of 24 units from further courses listed in the Master of Public Health or the Master of Public Health (Advanced)
