Course description, features and facilities This graduate diploma is underpinned with the theme of providing the science behind policy and practice and involves opportunities for students to network with industry representatives and participate in work health and safety teams through practicum placement. The course is taught with sufficient content to satisfy the requisite knowledge for professional membership in a number of organisations.
Two of the core units have unit pre requisites that may require an applicant to undertake a bridging unit/s. Students may enter the course without the pre-requisites, but must have completed the pre requisite requirements prior to enrolment in either of the core units: · PHYS5405 Radiation Safety (a pass in WACE physics, or equivalent; or completion of a foundation general physics unit at tertiary level) · CHEM4309 Occupational hygiene and chemical safety (a pass in WACE chemistry, or equivalent; or completion of a foundation general chemistry unit at tertiary level) For more information please contact the course coordinator Winthrop Professor Tim Ackland.
