Course programme

FACULTY OF AEROSPACE ENGINEERING

The faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion, established in 1954, is the sole source of aerospace engineers in Israel. The faculty members conduct research and teach a wide range of aerospace disciplines. The Aerospace Research Center consists of the Aerodynamics (wind tunnels) Laboratory, the Aerospace Structures Laboratory, the Combustion and Rocket Propulsion Laboratory, the Turbo and Jet Engine Laboratory, the Flight Control Laboratory and more. During its nearly 60 years of existence, constant efforts have been made to maintain and strengthen the department’s excellence in research. The high quality of the academic work performed by faculty members is reflected in their appointments to Israeli, US and international academies, their election to governing bodies of national and international professional associations, and their memberships on editorial boards of scientific journals. Three faculty members have received the prestigious Israel Prize, the highest national award in the country, for their lifetime achievements in aerospace engineering research.

Ph.D.

The doctoral program is designed to train students to conduct independent scientific research. Students' research should significantly promote the knowledge and understanding of the specific area of study, and should be suitable for publication in an internationally recognized scientific journal. Most of the PhD students' time will be dedicated to research.

M.Sc. with a thesis

The goal of the Master's program is to expand students' knowledge in the fields of aeronautics and aerospace, and to provide training in relevant research methods.
