Course programme

The Grande Ecole Programme curriculum includes a common core (1st year (L3) and 2nd year (M1)), based on the disciplines of management and the development of behavioural skills and a wide variety of specialisation pathways (3rd year (M2)).

BASIC TRAINING IN THE 1ST YEAR (L3)
This year’s objective is to acquire the fundamental knowledge and behaviours of management. It consists in discovering and acquiring the basics of management science (concepts and methods), as well as the fundamental soft skills, and involves at the same time the creation of a personalised path. The academic year ends with a 2-months discovery- internship, in France or abroad, to familiarise yourself with the business world.

GENERAL MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN THE 2ND YEAR (M1)
Carried out within the framework of an academic exchange abroad or on the Montpellier campus (for students admitted in the 2ndyear (M1)), this year gives the possibility to enhance managerial knowledge. It is based on the enhancement of knowledge in management disciplines and the opening to new disciplinary themes. An optional internship in France or abroad can be added to the academic year to carry out a very concrete mission, which consists on applying skills in the workplace. To discover all of Montpellier Business School foreign partner universities, click here.

SPECIALISED TRAINING IN THE 3RD YEAR (M2)
This year’s objective is both to prepare the professional integration of the young graduate and to establish the foundations of his/her future professional progression by developing its capacity for analysis as well as for reflection in order to approach a professional practice in a cross-cutting way.The students build their final specialisation on the basis of the first semester and the professional specialisation pathways of the second semester. The first semester Majors put more focus on theoretical knowledge and research-based approaches, with courses mainly led by Montpellier Business School’s head teacher-researchers. The professional specialisation pathways of the second semester have professional integration, as well as early career choices while interacting with highly qualified professionals, as a priority.
The academic year ends with a 6-months specialisation internship, in France or abroad, the objective of which is to apply the knowledge acquired based on a cross-cutting vision of situations in a professional context. It is also intended to facilitate professional integration by constituting a pre-employment by the business.

In parallel, students realise, under the supervision of a teacher-researcher, an end-of-course work internship relevant to a concrete professional issue that they will have to deal with based on an academic way. This year of specialisation can be carried out within the framework of dual degree academic exchanges in France or abroad.

COURSE OF STUDIES → POSSIBLE PATHWAYS
AN ORIGINAL AND TAILOR-MADE CURRICULUM FOR EACH STUDENT The Grande Ecole Programme can last from two to four years, depending on the entry pathway and the chosen career path, and combine long-term international experience(s) with long-term experience in business.

Specialisation Pathways

In the third year, students build their career on the basis of the Major courses of both the first semester and the professional specialisation pathways, on those of dual degrees or of the Master of Science in the second semester. The first semester Majors put more focus on theoretical knowledge and research-based approaches, with courses led by head teacher-researchers.The professional specialisation pathways of the second semester have professional integration, as well as early career choices while interacting with highly qualified professionals, as a priority.

Dual French master's degrees

This specialisation year can be carried out within the framework of dual academic exchanges that are open to students thanks to the numerous partnerships established with the University of Montpellier.
