Course programme
This broad course allows you to develop your skills in diverse and exciting ways through a range of design methods such as drawing, print, painting, collage, photomontage and mixed media. You will show a critical understanding of the historical development of Graphic Design within society and demonstrate this awareness in your coursework.
- You must satisfy the general entry criteria for A Level courses, which are based on your GCSE results.
- In addition, you will need a grade C or above in any Art and Design based GCSE.
International students:
- Equivalent overseas qualifications will be considered.
- IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each skill) or equivalent.
Assessment is partly by the portfolio of work you produce, and partly by written exam.
The course has a successful progression record to both Art and Design Foundation Diplomas and directly on to Design related or Architecture degree courses. Media, advertising, marketing and business-related degrees are also common routes of progression. Students who leave education or take a gap-year find work in design-related employment or internships.
