This course leads to the BCS Qualification of Green IT Foundation Certificate upon successful completion of a 40 question multiple choice exam.

Discuss the roles and responsibilities associated with Green IT including:

• The Green IT Champion
• The Procurement Manager
• Sustainability Officer

Finance and Cost Benefit Analysis including:

• End to end costing (lifecycle approach)
• TCO (total cost of ownership) and equipment refresh
• Calculating the payoff period of investments in Green IT
• Understand how to manage external relationships and stakeholder expectations

Foundation Certification in Green IT Course Content:

• Modern organisations must embrace sustainable business practises. The Foundation Certificate in Green IT is a three day course that will equip those engaged in the ‘greening’ process with knowledge of how to measure, prioritise and implement plans, tactics and strategies.
• This certificate aims to help reduce the environmental impact of the ICT function of the organisation.
• It also looks at how ICT can be used to reduce the carbon ‘cost’ across the whole organisation.

The course aims to:

• Introduce and explain the fundamental principles of Green ICT & the science driving adoption of ‘greener’ working practices.
• Provide delegates with knowledge of how sustainable ICT can be used to help reduce the impact on the environment by organisations.
• Prepare candidates for the BCS exam leading to the Foundation in Green ICT qualification.
• Equip the delegate with the tools to be able to undertake further study in the field of Green ICT.
