About this course

Gain knowledge and skills on health checking, preparing for bathing, bathing, drying and preparing for styling, basic styling methods and equipment. We are 100% Animal Welfare Driven

For those wishing to learn how to groom their own dog or for those wishing to learn a little more about what dog grooming consists of.

No entry requirements for the learner however, your dog needs to be social with people and not an overly nervous temperament.

College Certificate.

An amazing course delivered by Sara Hart LCGI an International Award Winning tutor and City & Guilds dog grooming examiner. Sara is friendly, supportive and has extensive knowledge in grooming, skin care, canine behaviour, dog training, small animal rehabilitation and grooming equipment.

We will send an email with an Application Form and our initial Student Induction. We are also happy to chat with potential candidates before they decide to join us.

Yes if you do not have a suitable dog yourself then you are welcome to bring another dog.

Yes we are happy to provide a suitable dog for you to learn with, however there may be an additional charge for this.

Yes we are happy to welcome you and your friend, however there will be an additional fee for this.

Yes we specialise in older students and you will find us very friendly and supportive.

Course programme

Prepare and understand the outcomes of grooming subject to your own dog's needs.
Be introduced to pre grooming health checks and how to monitor and record these details.
Develop introductory knowledge and skills needed to prepare for bathing and carrying out pre grooming necessary for bathing.
Learn bathing skills and carry out a comprehensive bath for your dog that includes an introduction to specific products used in bathing, conditioning and as an incecticidal as needed.
Then, prepare your table for grooming and then carry out drying and preperation for styling depending on your dog's needs.
Carry out basic styling techniques for your dog and / or assist with your dog's styling carried out by a qualified dog groomer, this is dependant on your dog's coat type and will be discussed prior to booking your course.
Be introduced to different and appropriate grooming equipment
