This course explains the key principles of group accounting and provides practical examples of how group accounts are prepared. It will refer to both UK GAAP and IFRS, including a review of the key differences between these reporting frameworks. Changes which have arisen under the Companies Act 2006 will also be covered and an update will be provided on recently issued amendments to group accounting standards. Examples from published accounts will be used to illustrate key issues. Suitable for: This course is primarily aimed at accountants who prepare group accounts under IFRS or UK GAAP. It will also be of interest to accountants who want to keep up to date with financial reporting as part of their CPD requirements and auditors and analysts of companies who report on group accounts.

- Calculating goodwill and impairment testing

- Current developments in group accounting (IFRS 3 revised)
